CBS team members volunteering at Kerr Street Mission

On a winter evening in Oakville this week, a group of CBS team members gathered at Kerr Street Mission to help prepare and serve dinner for the community. It was a hands-on way to support KSM's work while spending meaningful time together.

Flatbread pizzas and Caesar salad were on the menu, served to almost 50 guests. As we settled into the kitchen, donning aprons, hairnets, and heart headbands, we quickly found our roles and rhythm. Our assembly team moved flatbreads along as sauce, cheese, and toppings were added. Others chopped vegetables and prepped the salad nearby. Outside the kitchen, the rest of our team set the dining room tables and decorated for Valentine's Day.

As trays moved in and out of the oven, the space stayed busy but calm, with everyone focused on getting meals ready and out to the serving station while families filed into the dining room. The evening served as a great reminder that even in a fast-paced setting, something as simple as a shared meal can help create connection.

We’re grateful to the CBS team members who volunteered their time and energy to make the meal possible, and to the group at Kerr Street Mission for welcoming us so warmly. Their ongoing work supporting individuals and families in Oakville plays an important role in our community, and we were glad to support their efforts.
